New Special Issue: Synthetic Psychoactive Cathinones (aka “Bath Salts”)

The use and abuse of synthetic cathinones is an emerging problem in the field of drug abuse and addiction world-wide. Information on this diverse class of compounds is slowly emerging, and is essential for both medical professionals and regulatory officials, particularly as the use and abuse of these drugs increases in prevalence.

In recognition of the importance of this problem, we are organizing a special issue titled Synthetic Psychoactive Cathinones (aka “Bath Salts”) for publication in Psychopharmacology later this year. We are inviting you to contribute an original research investigation on this topic.

You may formulate the precise topic and type of contribution, but the work should have relevance to the actions and/or mechanisms of bath salts suitable for a psychopharmacology readership. Manuscripts for original investigations are limited to 15 text pages.  Contributions from both preclinical and clinical perspectives are desired.

We are planning for a submission by May 1 and publication later in 2018.

The editors for this special issue will be F. Scott Hall and Klaus A. Miczek

Workshop: Computational Approaches on Animal & Human Behavior

We are pleased to confirm the that the EBPS Workshop entitled “Animal and Human Behavior: Using Computational Approaches to Build a Two-way Bridge”, will be held July 29-31, 2018, at Downing College in the University of Cambridge, UK.

This workshop is designed to foster discussion between sub disciplines and establish a foundation for utilizing computational approaches to better bridge the gap between animal models of maladaptive behavior and human psychopathology.

Those interested exploiting computational approaches to advance our understanding of animal and human behavior and the underlying neurobiological mechanisms are encouraged to attend. A background in computational methods is not required.

Please check the workshop webpage for more information on the scientific programme and registrations.

We look forward to seeing you in Cambridge!
